LOVE! Granite Bakery! I have been going to this cute bakery for years and am so glad I live close to a wonderful bakery. Their sugar cookies are to die for and love their donuts and homemade oreo cookies (you can't just eat one they are so good). Super nice service too. Granite Bakery is always the go to for my kid's elementary school for holidays and birthday treats. Yummy deserts that are super cute! I won't go anywhere else!

Granite Bakery is one of my favorites. For one, they made our wedding cake (by "our," I don't me you and me, Yelp--that law hasn't been passed yet), and for two, they make some mean baked goods. The sugar cookies and donuts are pretty good, but the star of the show are their cinnamon knots. These suckers are addicting. You might as well buy a bunch, because if you don't you'll drive around the block and come back to buy 12 more of the knots for your "friends." (we all know they're really for you)

This awesome bakery made my wedding cake. It was absolutely gorgeous and delicious beyond belief. They did a raspberry lemon cake with custard and soft, buttery frosting; beautifully topped with fudge drizzle and bright red strawberries (you better believe I'm posting a photo). They were very easy to work with and easy to pay, holy crap are they affordable. I paid $600 for a cake that looked like well over a grand. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in Salt Lake City. Also, they have great sugar cookies. We ordered their Halloween themed frosted sugar cookies for my October bridal shower and everyone gobbled them up. I would absolutely recommend this bakery to anyone planning an event in SLC.

After a failed attempt at making my own lemon bread cake, I called Granite Bakery to see if they could help me out. They could! They made it with less than 24 hours notice. Great customer service, affordable prices, and a delicious cake. Will definitely return the next opportunity I get!

They offered me a make up cake and it was really nicely made, the girl who emailed me was so professional and tried to make me content...

I have ordered a couple of cakes from this place already and every single time they never disappoint me. I just picked up a cake from them, all I told them that I wanted a cake like mushu...it sucks that they are not able to make mushu because of the "copyright" thing. The dragon cake came out so pretty. The taste of the cake was great. They offer different variety of cakes, the one I got was strawberry swirls with chocolate middle. The cake was a little bit too sweet for us, but it was delicious. There was a lot cream on the cake also. It was quiet interesting. The picture will show it.

I was traveling to Utah from California for a graduation and needed to order a cake. I hopped on Yelp to check out options and chose this company after great reviews and I was NoT disappointed! I had never ordered a cake before so I wasn't too sure what I wanted but the guy on the phone was very patient/helpful/nice! I wanted a large cupcake-cake and wasn't sure how/what to order. In the end I described what I wanted with the help of the nice gentlemen on the phone and hopped it would come out nicely. I picked it up and was amazed! The cake was beautifully done and I could help the baker took their time and made it with care! Thank you for the great cake! The bottom was made with a solid chocolate shell, which was awesome!

This place does not disappoint. Every time I come here I try something new and it is always delicious. I would recommend the mini sugar cookies, they will melt in your mouth and the glaze isn't too sweet. Another recommendation would be the ginger snaps. They are so soft and chewy that you will never eat just one. Honestly though, you can get anything here and be just fine.

I got married a few weeks ago, and we wanted to serve Texas sheetcake since it's delicious and I'm from Texas. We didn't have quite enough so my husband called Granite bakery to see if they could make us one. They asked, "What flavor?" What flavor?? It's a Texas sheetcake. There's only one flavor. He ordered it, and when it arrived, I was very disappointed. It was a big flat decorated regular cake--not at all what it was supposed to be. Texas sheetcake is made a specific way and has a specific chocolatey taste. I mistakenly assumed a bakery would know this.

We picked up a birthday cake from there and I asked the employee about her recommendations about the cake flavor and she said she has no idea about it. Come on are you kidding me ? Who am I gonna ask this ? A car mechanic. The cake came out like we wanted so that's the only good thing. Moreover it was ok tastewise.

I've never be to this place or ordered from them. I wanted to order a customized birthday cake for my boyfriend. So I ordered a cake from another bakery online a week before his birthday. They took my order but then I never heard from them again. So I called them a day before the party, and they told me they didn't have my reservation record. What?! Are you serious?? I think hearing that my order didn't exist have given me a panic attack. I was hopeless and angry, but still I have to get a cake. I started to search for another bakery that help people to customize cake, and the name Granite Bakery popped out. I called them and told them what I want, but deep in my heart I didn't think they would take my order since it was so last minute. Surprisingly, they did, and it turned out very good, even higher than my expectation. All my friends who tasted the cake love it. They even asked for the name of the bakery. The most important thing is my boyfriend loved it. The cake wasn't a typical shape cake. It was a bit oval with a pointed top. Not only they did the shape good, they also made the cake looked exactly the same as the picture I showed them. It is a Japanese character, I don't expect anyone in the US know this character, not to mention make a cake that looks similar to the character. But Granite Bakery did a really really great job. The cake was wonderful and it's look was awesome. I would hug everyone in this bakery if I could. Thank you Granite Bakery for making that night perfect!

Granite did such a GREAT job on my mom's birthday cake. They took the idea I had and ran with it. I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was too. The people working there are very friendly and the cake tasted amazing! I've never ordered an official bakery item before, outside of the bakeries at the grocery store but if the need arises again, I'll be calling Granite! Thanks for the delicious dessert that put a smile on all of our faces.

We recently relocated to SLC and luckily moved within walking distance of Granite Bakery. Not so lucky for my waist line, but my taste buds are sure satisfied. Whether its one of their cakes, cookies, or donuts everything here is delicious and made with care. I have yet to try one bad thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm working my way through their options for the good of all yelpers and once I get something bad I will let you know. Until then I'll just keep eating one delicious baked good after another.

Needed a birthday cake for my son's girlfriend's birthday. For some reason I thought I wanted to try another place for her cake. There was a lot of hype about another 'city' bakery, but quickly realized that customer service and great cake are both important. So, sorry Granite for thinking I could find both elsewhere. When I called Granite, I was greeted with a warm welcome and they happily accepted my order. The next day when I picked up the layered vanilla cake with strawberry filling, it was ready and decorated beautifully, and the cake was fantastic!! Also, had to get some cinnamon knots...they are so addicting. Thanks Granite Bakery!

Let me start by declaring that Salt Lake City is lucky to have the Granite Bakery. Let me further state my love for this bakery that it excels at keeping it simple and delicious. Finally it seems that I am consumed by my jealousy that I haven't found a bakery of this caliber in the Seattle area. We were picking up a custom ordered birthday cake on this trip...the cake was a spice cake with butter cream frosting over glazed with a maple layer. I took one look at the case and declared I could not leave without a sampler of iced cookies, orange glazed cake donut, raspberry filled cookie. I have no use for bakeries that depend too much on sugary sweetness to carry their treats. Granite Bakery is doing it right in that they only sweeten to accent the flavor. All of the baked goods were perfectly sweetened and melted in your mouth. The cake was beautifully decorated (with a requested Smaug the Dragon theme), the butter cream perfectly sweetened and firm with the maple layer reminiscent of the messiah of maple bars. Come and eat and enjoy.

Granite Bakery made my wedding cake and they did a fantastic job! We absolutely loved our cake. I really liked the lemon, raspberry swirl, and the marble cake flavors. I had some pictures of what I wanted my cake to look like and they made it look perfect. I highly recommend them for wedding cakes. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they are too expensive. I also haven't been impressed with their cookies in the past. I will try the cinnamon knots everyone seems to be raving about next time I'm there.

We showed up unexpectedly at 730 AM just after they opened having no idea their bridal section was closed. We couldn't come back because we also had a funeral and and engagements to do the very same day. We were also approaching Granite's deadline to book a date. Despite not being open, they took us, set up computers, made employees available, and stood by for anything we needed all while doing scheduled business. They went above and beyond for our mistake and emergency not their issue. We haven't paid them a dime yet so they clearly do whatever they can to even help non-paying customers. My hat is off to the Saturday morning girls at granite bakery for adding a little heaven to our week of hell and not giving my fiance one more thing to worry about and stress over. 5 star business.

Fast, friendly, and great tasting cakes! They were able to add a message to my cake on the spot. And this is one of the best tasting chocolate cakes I've ever had.

Nothing at Granite Bakery has ever really knocked my socks off, but everything is always good. Their prices are okay for the size and quality of the pastries and donuts. When we're in the neighborhood, we'll often stop in for a snack, but we won't go out of our way to get here.

I can't say enough great things about Granite Bakery, but I'll sure try. I drive past this place several times a week and I didn't pay much attention to it until some friends started recommending this as a potential wedding cake spot for us. We ended up getting our wedding cake provided by our venue, but I still wanted to give their cake-making skills the old Kelie test of approval, so I intended to order my kid's birthday cake from here. Well, as luck would have it, I completely forgot to put in an order. I sat at work at 5 pm on a Friday night, stressing about the party and about to leave and decided to give Granite Bakery a call to see if they have a good assortment of generic cakes daily. When I called, I found out that they do, in fact, bake fresh cakes daily and were happy to write any message on one if I wanted. Then the woman on the phone threw me for a loop when she said it wasn't too late to special order a cake. SRSLY?? I gave them less than 24 hours notice and they made me the most awesome little boys' camouflage print cake, ever. And did I mention it was delicious? He picked a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and it was divine. The cake was so moist and the filling was fruity and sweet, but not too sweet. The buttercream frosting (which I usually hate with a fiery passion of hatefulness) wasn't horrible, either. Aside from cake, they make fresh pastries and other goodies, too, along with bread. I'm a huge fan.

I went to Granite bakery several months ago when I was visiting SLC with my boyfriend. We'd rented a house for the week, and luckily we were directly across the corner from the bakery. Those 4 mornings was not enough to get my fill of the delicious soft yet crunchy, warm and buttery, sweet and cinnamonny cinnamon knots, so I ended up getting 3 dozen to take home and freeze. I'm just finishing them up today and I'm sad about that!! I've gotta figure out what friend will be going to SLC next so I can finagle another load!! I remember the ladies were so nice and helpful when I went into the bakery. I got a couple other things to munch on during my vacation, however the cinnamon knots stole my heart!!! I think Granite Bakery needs to move to Boston so I can get my fix on a regular basis!!! To all of you local Utahans, enjoy Granite Bakery and eat a knot for me!!

Ah, wedding planning. How I loved it and loathed it. Mostly loved it though. Back to the subject at hand. Cake. Delicious, moist, sugary, buttery treat. Granite Bakery is IMO THE place to go for your wedding cake. I searched high and low for a cake that was the trifecta of perfection - delicious, beautiful, and affordable. By chance, I happened to drive by Granite Bakery after having frequented all the "well-known" cake bakeries. The other bakeries had just about served to scare me into serving ice cream instead. Visions of cakes from the 80's or thousand dollar bills were my nightmare. My husband and I settled on two flavors - sour cream lemon with raspberry swirl and a strawberry swirl with strawberry filling. It was moist, delicious, and hands down, the best tasting wedding cake I have ever had. Leftovers were welcomed in our home. The price was right - much more affordable than the other places we had visited. And the creation? The cake was exactly what I wanted. Granite Bakery allowed me to create my vision of the perfect cake and executed it perfectly. It turned out elegant yet simple. We don't do ruffle froufrou-lishness in my house. We have since ventured back and picked up treats for the heck of it. I can't vouch past the cake because we seem to be hung up on it. My husband is a strawberry shortcake lover and for his last birthday I picked up a Strawberry Boston Cream Pie. Seriously awesome. The custard made it creamy yet not teeth-chattering sweet. Granite Bakery is your man for all cake related needs. Now, take a load off and enjoy the pounds.

I came from my home in Ohio to have my wedding and my parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary in my hometown of Salt Lake. My mother had done my cake tastings before I came home and raved about the flavor of those at Granite and about how markedly courteous and accommodating was the staff. I knew that with two cakes to order, I should be very comfortable with the bakery. When I got into town the week of my event and my then-fiance and I went to Granite, we were both so impressed with how great the service and staff were. The owner was so kind and willing to help us with the surprise aspect of my mother and father's cake, as well as the delivery to our not-so-gracious venue. Granite smoothly and fluidly made everything happen and the entire experience, including the quality of the cakes in both flavor and design is one that I would wish on every bride. I cannot thank them enough for making certain parts of my special day both sweet and wonderful.

They made my daughters birthday cake and it was wonderful. It was a simple vanilla with butter cream frosting, but DANG was it incredible, and super moist. The staff are so nice & easy to work with. LOVE my LOCAL granite bakery!

Looking for a great cake for your wedding, birthday, or just a great cake? This is your place. They did a great job on our wedding cake and I will always recommend this as a first choice. Very friendly staff. They really want to help you in any way they can. After all it is your day. They did offer us a taste of several cakes and other baked goods to try. The sour cream lemon with raspberry filing is a great choice ;)

This used to be a great bakery. I ordered a large sheet cake for a kids party, in person, carefully explaining the very simple but colorful design I wanted and even selecting frosting colors from a color wheel. What I got was a chocolate cake with white frosting and no design. I was shocked and let them know and they took it back and added a few ribbons, no frosting. I asked for white frosting so the colored design would show up. Zero color except for a few sprinkles and the addition, after I complained of a few ribbons?! And the cake was dry. And it was $70! And the happy birthday script was thin on a very large cake. It was certainly not a highlight of our very special occasion. A week prior I ordered a cake and went to pick it up and they had lost the order! We got cinnamon knots for dad after surgery this past week and they were at least a day or two old. But even more disappointing is they don't seem to care. The staff don't smile and act like they don't want to be there and wish you weren't there either. Our family has used them for years and for the last time. Go elsewhere!

Yuk! Went to pick up my daughter's birthday cake and was greeted by a worker who kept grabbing and rubbing her nose. To make things worse, Granite bakery did the bare minimum for the outrageous $50 they charged. The cake was dry and tasted like it was made several days before I picked it up. Also it barely had any cherry filling between the layers. After reading the reviews about different bakeries I decided to pick this bakery but never again. Two days prior to this my mother had purchased a birthday cake from Dan's bakery above Wasatch blvd and having a big piece left we performed a taste test with our guests and there was no comparison. The cake made by Dan's won. Theirs was moist with delicious creamy frosting even after having sat in the fridge for two days not to mention it was half the price. A valuable lesson learned.

Two Words: Cinnamon Knots. OMG. Crack. Their sugar cookies are attractive, but don't have much flavor to me. Donuts are good there, but its all about the knots. Try one and die. I once bought 2 knots, and got out of there, and 1 small empty bag later, regretted I didn't get the dozen bag. I will never make that mistake again.

This is an amazing bakery! I was able to get a cake that I didn't have to worry about cross contamination with peanuts that was moist and amazing! Although this bakery specializes in wedding cakes (also amazing from all the pictures I have seen) they did a fabulous job on my daughters princess fairy cake! On the crazy day of her birthday party I was able to pick up her cake and balloon bouquet in one stop (great balloon selection as well) the employees were friendly and helpful and I will definitely be getting all our cakes for all occasions here! Cute golf cake designs, Ute football............I am so stoked to have found this place!
